Toffee Squares

American, Dessert
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 to 3 bars milk chocolate
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Sift in flour, salt until dough is blended. Spread on 13x10 inch greased baking sheet. Leave 1 inch around the edges. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until browned. Place chocolates on top, when soft spread evenly over surface. Sprinkle on nuts.
