Texas Sheet Cake

Recipe: Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 2 cups flour
  • ICING:
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Bring margarine, water and cocoa to boil
  2. Let cool
  3. Mix eggs, baking soda, vanilla and vinegar and add to the cocoa mixture
  4. Fold in dry ingredients
  5. Pour into greased and floured jelly roll pan
  6. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes
  7. Top with icing immediately
  8. ICING:
  9. Boil margarine, milk and cocoa
  10. Add powdered sugar and vanilla
