Swedish Heirloom Cookies

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups almonds, ground
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • Cream butter, gradually adding sugar and salt, cream well. Add the ground almonds and vanilla. Blend in flour gradually and mix thoroughly.
  • Shape dough into balls or crescents, using a rounded teaspoon for each. Place on ungreased baking sheet. If desired, decorate with cake decorations or roll undecorated baked cookies in powdered sugar while warm. Bake at 325 degrees 15-18 minutes.
