Recipe: Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs hamburger
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup uncooked rice
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 lb or more pork spare ribs
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 lb can sauerkraut
  • 2 medium sliced onions
  • 1 lb can tomatoes or fresh tomatoes
  • Cabbage leaves (softened in 1 cup boiling water)

Instructions

  1. Mix hamburger, egg, rice, salt and pepper and garlic salt together
  2. Meanwhile, brown pork spare ribs
  3. Line bottom of pan with 1/2 of sauerkraut, then ribs, and sliced onions
  4. Put hamburger mixture, about 2 tbsp or more in cabbage leaves and roll up
  5. Add your cabbage, hamburger and mix on top of onions in pan and add rest of sauerkraut
  6. Put tomatoes on top
  7. Bring to a boil and cover
  8. Simmer for 3 hours
