South of the Border Hotdish

South of the Border Hotdish is a zesty and hearty Mexican-flavored meal. Crunchy, meaty and cheesy all at once, it’s a flavorful dish that will add some much-needed flavor to your winter-time menu.

Recipe: South of the Border Hotdish


  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 pkg taco seasoning
  • 2 8 oz cans tomato sauce
  • 1 pkg taco shells or chips
  • 8-12 oz Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2-1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water


  1. Brown meat and onion
  2. Add taco seasoning, tomato sauce, other seasonings and water
  3. Layer meat, shredded cheese and broken taco shells or chips in casserole
  4. End with cheese on top
  5. Bake at 325 degrees F for 20 minutes
