Six Week Muffins

The name Six Week Muffins is derived from how long these moist, healthy and tasty muffins keep in a sealed container in your refrigerator. This recipe is simple to make and even better to eat!

Recipe: Six Week Muffins


  • 1 15 oz. box Raisin Bran
  • 1 cup melted shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 5 cups flour
  • 5 tsp soda
  • 2 tsp salt


  1. Combine all dry ingredients, add eggs, shortening and buttermilk
  2. Mix well
  3. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees F
  4. Store in a covered container in refrigerator
  5. Keeps 6 weeks in refrigerator
