Sister Lucy’s Rolls

Sister Lucy’s Rolls are a sweet bread roll, much like a jelly roll or cinnamon roll, which is time consuming to make but better than anything a grocery store can offer up.

  • 2 pkgs active dry yeast
  • 1-1/2 cups lukewarm milk

  3. Mix with spoon until smooth
  4. Add flour to handle easily
  5. Mix with hand
  6. Turn onto slightly floured board
  7. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes
  8. Round up in greased bowl, greased side up
  9. Cover with damp cloth
  10. Let rise in warm place (85 degrees) until double, about 90 minutes
  11. Punch down
  12. Let rise again until almost double, about 30 minutes
  13. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to form a rectangle
  14. Spread the dough with soft butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon
