Shrimp and Cheese Casserole

This easy but Tasty Shrimp Casserole is a must have at Mom’s for Christmas morning and Easter brunch.  You can use the smaller salad shrimp or larger peeled & deveined shrimp. (Remove tails)  If you are looking for an alternative Lenten supper this might be just the treat your family has been looking for.

Recipe: Shrimp and Cheese Casserole


  • 6 slices white bread
  • 1 lb prepared shrimp (ready to eat)
  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter, melted
  • 1/2 lb Old English cheese
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 whole eggs, beaten
  • 1 pint milk


  1. Break bread into pieces about the size of a quarter
  2. Break sliced cheese into bite size pieces
  3. Arrange shrimp, bread and cheese in several layers in a greased casserole
  4. Pour margarine or butter over this mixture
  5. Beat eggs, add mustard and salt, then add milk
  6. Mix together and pour over ingredients in casserole
  7. Let stand 3 hours or overnight in refrigerator, covered
  8. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees F in oven, covered
