Sauerkraut Salad

Sauerkraut Salad is a traditional German recipe made and kept popular by Minnesota’s significant population of German immigrants. It’s a welcome addition to most any meal both during the warm summer months or the cold winter months.

Sauerkraut Salad

American, Side
  • 1 large can sauerkraut with juice
  • 1 large carrot, shredded
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • Pimentos, sliced
  • Mix ingredient well and refrigerate for 24 hours.
