Raisin Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
Directions
  • Cook raisins in water for 5 minutes. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix in raisins and water. Add flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Mix well. Roll into balls and dip in sugar. Place on greased pans,
  • and flatten a little. Bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes.
