Pumpkin Bread

Pumpkin BreadA tasty and healthy pumpkin bread recipe that is best in the months immediately following autumn but is equally good, with its seasonings straight out of a pumpkin pie, any time you are craving this autumnal treat.

Recipe: Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients

  • 3-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Dash of cloves and ginger
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup salad oil
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 2/3 cup water (use 1/3 cup when using fresh pumpkin)

Instructions

  1. Sift together all dry ingredients
  2. Mix liquids
  3. Mix everything together until smooth
  4. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees F
  5. Makes 2 or 3 loaves
