Poppy Seed Bread

This variant of Poppy Seed Bread uses the elusive butter brickle cake mix which can be substituted with either a white or yellow cake mix and crust bits or butterscotch candies to replicate the butter brickle flavor this heirloom recipe calls for.

Recipe: Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg butter brickle cake mix
  • 1 pkg instant coconut cream pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/4 tsp coconut flavoring
  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, oil, hot water and cocnut flavoring
  2. Beat at low speed until blended
  3. Then beat at high speed for 3 minutes or until light and fluffy
  4. Fold in poppy seeds
  5. Pour into greased bread or bundt pan
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes
  7. Can use 2 bread pans
  8. When ready to serve, spread slices with cream cheese or cheese spread
