Parker House Rolls

For warm, soft and fresh rolls you have to try this recipe for Parker House Rolls. I’m unsure where the name comes from but the result are piping hot rolls only possible from your own kitchen.

Recipe: Parker House Rolls


  • 6 to 6 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 pkgs dry yeast
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 egg


  1. In bowl, combine 2 1/4 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast
  2. Add 1/2 cup soft butter
  3. Mix at low speed, gradually adding 2 cups hot tap water
  4. Add egg and increase speed to medium, beat 2 minutes
  5. Add 3/4 cup flour and keep beating 2 minutes
  6. Add additional flour to make soft dough
  7. Knead and let rise till double
  8. Knead and let rest 15 minutes
  9. Melt last 1/2 cup butter
  10. Roll out dough and cut in 2 1/2 inch circle
  11. Dip in butter and fold over
  12. Let rise and bake
