Meatballs and Gravy

This recipe for meatballs and gravy is one of my mom’s favorites. It was a regular meal in our house growing up and about half the times I visit these tasty meatballs are on the table.

Meatballs and Gravy

Cooks in   
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. seasoning salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 16 soda crackers
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tbsp. flour
  • Mix beef onion and celery. Next add salt, pepper and seasoning salt. Add crackers and milk and mix thoroughly. Form small balls and brown in a greased frying pan until brown on all sides. Add water to pan and simmer for 1 hour, turning occasionally. Add flour to water and stir until thick to make gravy.
