Ho-Ho Cake

  • Filling:
  • 5 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp hot water
  • Bake one Duncan Hines chocolate cake mix in cookie sheet pan for 15-20 minutes.
  • Blend flour and milk making a smooth paste. Add milk slowly then cook until thick. Set aside to cool.
  • Blend milk and flour together until smooth.
  • Combine sugar, Crisco, margarine and vanilla with flour and milk mixture until well blended and all sugar dissolves. Spread on cool baked cake and refrigerate.
  • Beat all topping ingredients together until smooth. Spread on top of cooled filling. Keep refrigerated.
