Herb Turkey

This is an easy and delicious recipe for herb turkey that is perfectly browned on the outside while being both tender and juicy on the inside!

  • 2 tsp. basil
  • 2 tsp. thyme
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. tarragon
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 8 lb. turkey
  • 3 celery ribs, chopped
  • 3 tbsp. dried onion flakes
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • Combine basil, tarragon, thyme, salt and pepper. Mix well. Rub mixture onto turkey. Spoon onion and celery into cavity of turkey. Place turkey on rack in roasting pan. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes. Cover turkey loosely with tent aluminum foil. Roast turkey and additional 3 hours or until drumsticks move easily. Meat thermometer in thigh should read 180 degrees) Remove foil for last 30 minutes of roasting. Combine remaining ingredients. Brush on turkey frequently during last 30 minutes. Discard celery.
