Hamburger and Dressing Casserole

Hamburger and Dressing casserole is a thick and creamy gravy-covered mixture of ground beef and delectable flavors sure to satisfy your appetite after a hard day of digging ditches.

Recipe: Hamburger and Dressing Casserole


  • 2 lb hamburger
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 can cream of chicken or mushroom or celery soup
  • 6 slices bread, crumbed
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 egg, beaten


  1. Mix hamburger, pepper and salt
  2. Make dressing by combining crumbs, butter, salt, pepper, onion and egg
  3. Add hot water to moisten
  4. Line greased baking dish with 1/2 of hamburger mixture, cover with dressing
  5. Cover dressing with remaining hamburger mixture
  6. Pour soup over all
  7. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees F
