Half Hour Raised Donuts

Half Hour Raised Donuts are a classic recipe made with the simplest of ingredients resulting is a moist and warm donut that is fit for selling on a street corner if you’re so inclined.

Recipe: Half Hour Raised Donuts

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. COmbine yeast, water and sugar
  2. Let stand until bubbles form
  3. Blend in egg, butter, vanilla, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg
  4. Add flour
  5. Knead and roll out to 1/2 inch thickness
  6. Cut and place on cookie sheets
  7. Let rise 1/2 hour
  8. Fry in hot fat until brown at 375 degrees F
