Recipe: Danish Puffs

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp almond or vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cut 1/2 cup water into 1 cup sifted flour, sprinkle with 2 tbsp water and mix with fork
  2. Round into a ball and divide in half
  3. Pat dough into 2 long strips, 12×3 inches
  4. Strips should be 3 inches apart on cookie sheet
  5. Bring 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water to a boil
  6. Add the flavoring and remove from heat
  7. Sift in flour immediately
  8. When smooth, add 3 eggs, 1 at a time
  9. Beat
  10. Spread over each pastry strip
  11. Bake 60 minutes at 350 degrees F
  12. Frost with powdered sugar icing and nuts if desired
  13. Marmalade or jam may be added to icing
