Danish Coffee Bake

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp almond flavoring
  • 1 cup flour
  • Mix flour, water and butter/margarine together as though being used for a pie crust. Roll onto a cookie sheet.
  • Put the 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup water in a pan and bring to a boil; adda lmond flavoring. Remove from heat and beat in flour, stirring by hand so it will not lump. Stir in eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg is added. Spread over crust mixture and bake 50-60 minutes in 350 degree oven. Cool. Frost with powdered sugar icing and sprinkle with nuts and cherries.
