Recipe: Cocoa Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups shortening
  • Salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 heaping tbsp cocoa
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup sour milk
  • Vanilla
  • 3/4 cup hot water
  • 2 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar well
  2. Add egg and beat
  3. Alternate dry ingredients with sour milk
  4. Combine hot water with baking soda, add this to the mixture last
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes
