Chocolate Mint Sticks

Recipe: Chocolate Mint Sticks

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint flavoring
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • FROSTING:
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 1 tbsp cream
  • 1 square unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp-1 tsp peppermint flavoring
  • 1 tbsp margarine

Instructions

  1. Combine eggs, sugar and margarine and beat well
  2. Add the chocolate (melted) and peppermint and blend thoroughly
  3. Add flour and nuts, mix well
  4. Bake in greased 9 inch square pan at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes
  5. To make frosting, cream margarine, then gradually blend in sugar
  6. Add the cream and flavoring and mix well
  7. Spread over the cooled, baked bars
  8. When firm, spread over all the chocolate and margarine, melted together
  9. Keep in refrigerator
  10. Cut into small strips
