Bread Pudding

Ingredients
  • 4 to 5 slices fresh bread
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 12/ cup raisins or 1 cup chopped apples.
  • Topping:
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Butter sauce for Bread Pudding:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
Directions
  • Break bread in pieces and put into a greased 8x8 inch pan. Mix milk, sugar, salt, vanilla and raisins; pour over the bread and mix again.
  • Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over the top. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. May be served with butter sauce.
  • Blend together. Boil one minute, serve warm and enjoy.
