Blonde Brownies

Recipe: Blonde Brownies

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening, melted
  • 2 tbsp hot water
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 6 oz. chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Add brown sugar to melted shortening and water, cool
  2. Add eggs and vanilla to mixture and blend well
  3. Add sifted dry ingredients gradually
  4. Stir in chopped nuts
  5. Sprinkle chips on top or mix them in
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes
  7. Cool and cut
