Beer Cheese Soup

So, maybe Beer Cheese Soup sounds like something out of Wisconsin but the Minnesota-tested recipe is a native Minnesotan.

Beer Cheese Soup

Cooks in   
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cup cream
  • 16 oz. Cheese Whiz
  • 6 oz. beer
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. yellow food coloring
  • 1/4 cup chives
  • Melt butter, add flour and heat 5 minutes. Mix occasionally. Add broth and cream. Mix until smooth and thick. Add cheese. Stir until melted. Add rest of ingredients. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with popcorn.
