Recipe: Bakeless Valentine Cake Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 6 oz. pkg red Jell-O (cherry, raspberry or strawberry)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 3 tbsp half and half
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • Whole graham crackers

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Jell-O in 2 cups boiling water and 2 cups cold water (use part pineapple juice)
  2. Let set slightly
  3. Line 9×13 inch pan with whole graham crackers
  4. Make filling
  5. Cream sugar and margarine until light and fluffy
  6. Add 2 beaten egg yolks, beat well
  7. Fold in 2 stiffly beaten egg whites, half and half, pineapple and nuts
  8. Pour filling over layer of crackers
  9. Cover filling with whole graham crackers
  10. Pour slightly thickened Jell-O over top
  11. Chill until firm
  12. Serve with whipped topping
