Applecued Pork Steaks

The sweetness of the apple sauce pairs well with the heartiness of your choice of either pork steak or pork chops. Applecued Pork Chops make an excellent winter meal.

Recipe: Applecued Pork Steaks


  • 6-8 pork steaks or chops
  • 3 tbsp shortening
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2-3/4 cup apple sauce
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 2-3 drops Tabasco sauce


  1. Brown steaks or pork chops in shortening in large skillet
  2. Place steaks or pork chops in 13x9x2 inch baking dish
  3. Cook onion in skillet until tender
  4. Place onions on top of steaks or pork chops
  5. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over pork steaks or chops
  6. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 45 minutes or until tender
